Factors affecting demand
Growing demand for oil drilling and filler applications but world recession has hit automotive industry.
Chemical demand has fallen due to a dramatic switch to LCD/plasma TV and computer screens which use less barytes, but applications in the dielectrics, electro-ceramic and construction industry have risen.
